Feminism Is Making Americans Fat

Yes, not only is feminism drawing mustachios on our women, turning them into pale facsimiles of men, the grimy loser ideology is also fattening Americans up for the pig roast. How so, you ask?

The obvious mechanism is through the concerted propaganda effort to elevate deviancy to a sainted virtue, and taint normalcy by reducing it to just another lifestyle choice. The growing (heh) fat acceptance movement is one such example of this emergent social experiment. Platitudes (“we’re all beautiful in our own way”) and shibboleths (“real women have curves!”) and outright lies (“men are culturally conditioned to prefer thin women”) are the feminist’s tools of the trade. All delivered in the dulcet tones of a screeching hyena.

But there’s another, more insidious, reason why feminism bears a heavy debt of responsibility for the American obesity epidemic: by haranguing women to enter the workforce, they encouraged them to leave the homeforce in droves. This mass exodus from the home resulted in fewer healthy, home-cooked meals for the family and more processed, high sugar, high GI insta-feed from the supermarket shelves and fast food reheateries as a substitute.

Mangan details this in his excellent post about supernormal stimuli:

And why do we eat fast food and sugar-laden food more now? The causes are complex, but do concern our political and social environment. I think that feminism, with all its attendant fallout, especially the entrance of women into the workplace, is one of the main social causes of the obesity epidemic. Because so many women work outside the home, the substitution of restaurant and convenience food for home-cooked meals has come to seem necessary for many people. These foods are precisely those that have greater reward value, and that is precisely because modern industrial food manufacturers have designed them to be so.

You want to reframe the national discourse so that feminism is killed dead before it has a chance to infect the next generation of hosts? Just tell a woman about to embark on a contorted feminist line of reasoning that feminism makes people fat. If you want to win hearts and minds, you’ve gotta hit ’em where it matters. And for women, it matters most in the size of their figures.

  1. OT regarding oneitis

I was wondering if this is a unique weakness of mine or if it touches on a general truth.

I would categorize myself as an upper beta or lesser alpha on a good day and don’t have a problem getting with the ladies. Also I don’t generally really fall for a girl that I am sexing. I am fond of them and all – but remain unimpressed at the core.
But the few times it happened (about 3) it was for the cute but not beautiful dorkish types with pleasant personalities but not much “allure”. It seems that I let my guard down much quicker with those girls where I feel like I have the upper hand and suddenly I find myself texting three times within the hour to see what she’s up to.

What do you guys think? General trend or is it me being a pussy?

    Like

    • You being a pussy. Exercise self control. Make them chase you. Esp. the ones you are most developing feelings for.

Also oneitis shouldn’t be confused with falling in love when she’s in love with you back. It’s more being obsessed with a girl you’re kidding yourself about how much she’s attracted to you. Even when you fall in love though you should keep the upper hand, have her chase more, want your approval, and so on.

      • thanks doug
I guess than it’s more falling for her than oneitis. If she is to be believed, she loves me dearly. But I get uncomfortable/insecure when I catch myself caring too much.

      • I asked this somewhere else recently: what is “love” in relation to Game?

How does an Alpha love, and what’s appropriate – once it’s established the two of you are “in love” – when it comes to letting her know?

I feel like recently Game has made me question what/why/when/how/etc… with being expressively loving – not physically, but verbally, or communicatively. I used to be fine with saying “I love you,” whereas now I wonder if there’s any point, or things like “should I say it first or wait for her to,”?

Any thought’s on Love vs. Oneitis – which I thought only occurred after a break up…? And plus, isn’t all of this Game, these blogs….or, here: has anyone else come to the realization that what’s written here & elsewhere are basically voices of our own, truth’s we’ve always known, & concepts we all have always understood that are just written perhaps better than we could have consciously – until now, after reading them – have written or explicated ourselves? In other words, isn’t Game, PUA, & it’s terms just a layman’s guide to many Truth’s many of us have known, and rather than teaching us new things, it establishes a lexicon or a means through which we may organize our thought’s surrounding the subject of women? LIke Alpha, Beta, Oneitis, etc…At first I thought I was learning ALL of these NEW & AMAZING things.

But then I had to look back, and realize, I knew & practiced Game before it was part of my Psyche’s dialectical interface; now I just had a confirmation bias-space on the internet to go to which would re-callibrate myself to my already designed Self’s view on women, the world, and my interactions/ experiences with them.

Like, I was already unplugged, until I thought I was suddenly unplugging, and then being unplugged, I realized that I was never plugged in to begin with, I had just become unplugged by psychological association with/ emotional recognition of the truth’s in these blogs and others; I’d become unplugged, or began the process of unplugging, not because I was Beta or am becoming Alpha; but because my brain now had all of these ideas, and the event through the philosophy of Game by which one comes to understand or internalize all of these things is called “unplugging” thus as I read I became “unplugged,”…? Gotta go, but does this make sense?

Has anyone else thought, perhaps, they knew Game, and it wasn’t until they found Game that they *thought* they had stumbled upon an eye-opening thing, when really their eyes were already open and they just had stumbled upon a different lexicon or vocabulary which re-allocated previously held beliefs….?

This is a tangential tangent of the most trifling sorts because it likely, as a Troll beneath a bridge, make’s absolutely no sense.

        Any thought’s’d be appreciated. Thanks.

        A) Fuck you.

        B) Instead of finding a man and making babies with him [or, A MAN FINDING HER and knocking her up], so as to propagate the damned species, she chose instead to bring home a God-damned chimpanzee from the fucking animal shelter.

What’s she gonna do in 18 years after she’s sent the chimp to all the best private schools in Los Angeles [cumulative time value of which will exceed $1 Million in tuition] only to discover that the chimp can’t score any higher than 650 on its SATs?

Which is assuming that the chimp even graduates from high school in the first place – that it doesn’t just disappear forever into some Hollyweird subculture of gangsta rap, cocaine, and human sacrifice.

What’s she gonna do then, when she’s in her fifties, with a barren womb, and all chance for her to propagate the species is lost forever?

Become the secretary of the Hollyweird chapter of the League of Women Voters?

        Take up knitting?

Cruise bars as a fat wrinkly hideous old cougar?

        Become a bulldyke activist?

        C) I’m not making my point with “sound arguments and rational thought” because A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS, you fool, and if the sight of the world’s most beautiful woman, with a shaved head, and surrounded by baboons in the middle of gorillaville doesn’t hit you in the gut with visceral disgust, then can just:

Of course my take on this would be that for those girls with a LOW 2D:4D ratio, a more dominant guy is needed to trigger the usual mating and child-bearing behavior in them.

For instance, my mother has a very LOW finger ratio – though also has a very LOW WHR – and produced 6 kids. My father though is very Alpha.

Do you really think Roberts gave away the makings of a 5-4 majority over a narrowly applicable principle about the congressional power to tax? The tax upholding was jurisprudential cover to keep the act intact while striking down all the foundational justifications for it.

I’m not surprised the conservative press mob missed this angle: they are becoming as mediocre and mindlessly partisan as the mainstream news. The conservative media are conditioned like good boys to automatically accept the leftist’s spin on everything, just because the left is relentless and murders internal dissent with extreme prejudice.

Roberts deftly maneuvered his court (he is the Chief, after all) to preserve the issue for the election. The transformation of our country into a European social democracy is not anything one judge can save us from. It can only be resolved at the ballot.

Why so testy guys?  The upshot of this whole affordable care act thing is, alpha pump and dumpers win again. Feminists and single moms get the government to again act as finanical intermediary between thenselves and the faceless mass of average looking responsible betas they don’t want. Government autodeducts beta paychecks and uses it to pay to raise the children of players, so the players can keep fucking their next conquest without going broke supporting their kids.  Feminists get to prattle on some more about how women don’t need a man anymore (while quietly sitting on an bigger and bigger public subsidy package paid for by sexless betas).  The socialist machine rolls on, separating sex from its consequences more and more. Next stop, polygamy. Why so glum? If betas don’t like it, they can just wise up and game, right? We’ll all just become pump and dumpers.  The utopia of the lothario and the feminist.  (You two have a lot in common, in fact, no space here to develop that thought)

It’s a metaphor like Galt’s Gulch is a metaphor. As long as men remain separated from other men, the temptation will be to take what you can snatch and retire poolside. In other words, it’s only a metaphor as long as we remain isolated and resigned, like you, to the slough of despond.

The men who “went on strike” in Atlas Shrugged (JEW AUTHORESS ALERT) is not meant to be taken literally in all its cartoonish broad strokes. Like “Alphaville,” it is only meant to highlight the success of the vast mediocrities’ (or feminists’ and betas’, if you prefer) strategy of dividing and conquering. What Rand’s productive class and PUAs’ alphas have in common is their absence creating a general dysfunction upon their deliberate withdrawal. The parasites can’t function without true men’s largess, just as women are immiserated without access to alpha. All that is missing is alpha consciousness of the real score. But why would they care to be aware of the precipitate apocalypse (the one that demoralizes you so)? They’re too busy cleaning up in the chaos.

Also, don’t pretend to correct my grammar.

I won’t correct your grammar, especially when you didn’t make a grammar mistake, but I will correct your misunderstanding of punctuation. Brackets are used whenever you modify a quotation, and in the case above, I had to drop your “ed” to fit the syntax of my sentence. HTH

  6. Many feminists see domestic activities beneath them. The housewife and all her duties are a form of male oppression, after all. Now we have girls who don’t know how to cook healthy meals or perform basic household chores. I dated a girl who had a button fall off her coat. She wanted me to sew it back on because she honestly did not know how to. When I told her it’s a woman’s job to know how to sew, she became extremely offended. I was offended that I knew how to sew but she didn’t. Shouldn’t young girls be taught useful life skills by their mothers? Feminism replies: NO. That’s sexist.

What’s hard are the long hours, the dipshit waitresses, bartenders, and dishwashers, the drunks, the protection rackets (including cops and state liquor authorities), insurance, and banks. Those parts of the biz, if nit physics, do require skills (and more than a little strength).

I don’t see domestic activities as beneath me, and if I were a housewife, how would my duties be a form of male oppression? I think you have it all wrong. The oppression part is when women have no other choices but domesticity or when they’re told that that’s all they can do because they’re women.

Women have abilities and talents just like men do. Not every woman wants to be a housewife or a mother. All women want is choices. I don’t understand what’s wrong with that.

    • Is it really feminism or is it the economy that drives the need for two incomes? Wages have been stagnant for years, meanwhile CEOs are getting more money than ever. Yes, some high income people could have one person dedicated to child care, but other people truly need both incomes.

To completely blame feminism alone is crazy. Correlation is not causation.

  8. I’ve been saying this for years. Glad to see that I’m not alone.

Now that Obamacare has been upheld, it will only get worse. We will move even further away from Peak Hour Glass Figure since women will simply consume more subsidized health care instead of correcting their ailments by getting their weight and the weight of their daughters down. I wonder if it will lead to armed conflict as with other resources as the supply of slender women grows smaller and smaller.

Oh, make no mistake — there will be plenty of mommy-state nagging to get us to eat our spinach. More Bloomberg restrictions on foods we like, more taxes on food “for our own good,” more busybodies poking their noses into kids’ lunchboxes.

It just won’t have any effect. (Other than robbing us of freedom and dignity, that is.) People will continue to get fatter, thereby justifying more and more regulation of what we eat, and more and more taxes to pay for “free” health care.

And somewhere around 2030 the whole thing falls apart when debt service tops 100% of the budget, so we’re borrowing money to pay the interest on the money we’ve borrowed. The dollar goes Zimbabwe, the economy collapses, and the world plunges into chaos.

But I’m sure there will be some charismatic outsider Democrat who will lead us to a brighter future. Strength through Joy, Work makes Freedom, One Reich One Folk One Fuhrer.

There is another important way in which feminism has contributed to the obesity epidemic which wasn’t mentioned: since girl-power women have become so choosy in their mates, more omegas and betas have dropped out of the SMP. A lot of these men have decided [unconsciously or otherwise] that if they can’t get a plenitude of poon, at least they can get a plenitude of food.

    Ridiculous.

It’s strange how people in the alt.right sphere are oriented toward explaining human phenomenon by invoking biology and human nature (or “bio-mechanics”) — except when they can find the flimsiest reasons to blame “feminism.”

    No.

We are in evolutionary novel circumstances where our food tastes are maladaptive. Obesity has increased world-wide, and it’s somewhat silly and amateurish to blame feminism. We have cravings for salt, fat, and sugar — which are now too easy to obtain.

Even in terms of environmental circumstances driving obesity, you fail to blame — I dunno — the tens, if not hundreds, of billions of dollars spent marketing food to adults and children. Three year olds recognize the 70s style pedophile Ronald McDonald. They know which free toys come with Happy Meals. They do not know about Andrea Dworkin or Gloria Steinem.

This reminds me of the post where you said Game was created because of the rise in female obesity. Really? Birth control had nothing to do with it?

[heartiste: birth control *did* have something to do with the creation of game. this blog has been out first in drawing that connection. your comment is nothing more than a great exmaple of the either-or fallacy. both obesity and BC are implicated in the rise of game.]

More than ideas, technologies alter the trajectory of history.

[ideas matter. humans are, despite all their tech, social creatures to the bone.]

    • It is not entirely untrue to blame, as you say, the novel circumstance. However there are those occasions where our brain sees the conflict of our instincts. Our brains invented/discovered anesthesia during surgery, for example. We created a remedy to deal with the insufficient instinct for the circumstance. In this case, instead of using our brains to attack this problem, we have dismantled the bulwarks at home thanks to feminism, and developed cheap fattening food. So to compare it to the problem of pain relief in surgery, we have poured battery acid into the open cavity. It is beyond dispute that cooking skills can ameliorate the problem of increasing the palatability of lower calorie food. Feminism was essential to the destruction of this solution.

I absolutely believe feminism and women in the workplace is cause for the rise in obesity. I’ve looked at my folks high school yearbooks from the 50’s, and there hardly one or two obese individuals found in the pictures. Try looking at an average high school yearbook now and play “find the fatty.” Also, those kids from the 50’s ate everything from scratch and put butter and mayonaise on everything….still low obesity rates. Also, has anyone thought that the reduced tobacco consumption has also contributed to the rise in obesity? Smoking a cigarette would create a zero-calorie oral pacifier.

I’ve wondered about this a lot. We cooked with f’ing LARD back then … and yet we’re fatter now.

It seems that HFCS, simple sugars, simple carbs, and processed ingredients (whose effects are as yet unknown) are much more detrimental than butter and fat.

Yes, that’s also why animal fat is the most expensive, at least when you buy it at the source. Somehow the food industry has convinced people that vegetable oils are healthier and thus they should pay more for things that taste like but aren’t butter. Sugar that isn’t really sugar, fat that isn’t really fat, soy protein that makes you grow tits instead of animal protein and on and on.

On the other hand, sugar (of course you in the US don’t get any sugar, every tried Mexican Coca Cola?) and sugar substitutes (HFCS) are very cheap and they don’t make you feel full, the crash in blood sugar will have you hungry again in no time. US food is very artificial, and it seems the UK also doesn’t have any real standards regarding food. Now look where they are on the obesity scale.

The problem is, back in the day it took an effort or genetic/medical condition to be fat. Now it’s the other way around.

Unless a man is willing to earn enough so his wife doesn’t have to work and she can stay home, then he has no business laying up on his ass doing nothing and not doing his fair share around the house. That’s bullshit. And it’s an example of how men have not adapted to a changing social climate.

It’s ridiculous to blame feminism for the obesity epidemic. I chose to blame the male run and dominated food industry which saw that more women were entering the workforce and saw an opportunity to sell them convenience foods. • My father has an interesting hypothesis about that.

As an attorney, he’s noted that many Supreme Court justices have often moved leftward as time marches on.

The reason: They realize that they are literally the last line of defense/attack against the most vulnerable members of society. For many judges, an arms-crossed, good-luck-kid-you’re-on-your-own, dog-eat-dog mentality only persists for so long in the face of knowledge that hundreds of thousands of people will suffer great as a direct consequence of your personal vote.

And these justices do have to sleep at night. So they continue to expand the social safety net, to assuage their own consciences.

Many of you may disagree with expanding the social safety net, but that’s his take on the psychology behind it. It seems sound to me.

      • Well then he could have come right out and said he agreed with the health care law. But he did nobody any long term favors in how he ruled. Roberts practically stated that he knew he was helping Romney get elected in November, but no conservative should thank Roberts for declaring that Romney needs to get elected so we can replace the defecting Roberts as the 5th conservative vote.

Like a three year old or a feminist, Roberts used circular logic when he said that the public needs to vote in a new White House if they don’t like bad Supreme Court decisions.

Here’s a scenario, Jason, that should make you agree that the epilepsy drug addled Roberts did not do the right thing when he declared the republic dead and long live a democracy.

Imagine the Idiocracy principle is working and only authoritarians like Santorum and the Islamists breed much in the next 40 years. Premarital sex is declared illegal by Congress in 2052.

The Supremes then say “If you want to stop this law, vote for a new White House and House of Representin”. You know, of course, that the Santorum descendants are the majority and this means premarital sex will always remain illegal. There’s nowhere to turn but overseas.

Would you be OK with that? Are you against the idea of a republic with true separation of powers where one should never hear a judge say “it’s not up to us decide if a law is OK or not, because it’s up to the majority of the people to vote for it or not and repeal it or not”?

Democracy really is two wolves and a lamb discussing what’s for dinner. It may serve you now because altruism seems to be your main motivator in life, you don’t understand that violent transfers of wealth from men to women will reduce the attractiveness of the women you can get in the long run, and Mexican aliens are bolstering your party’s ranks for reasons other than altruism, but there are plenty of scenarios where this “Declaration that the US is a Pure Democracy” can bite you severely in your lifetime.

    • Roberts hasn’t moved leftward, fuckwits. If you know anything about USSC, you’d realize it was a purely tactical maneuver. The CJ is not anything close to O’Connor, Souter, or Kennedy. Roberts found a way to uphold the constitutionality of the law while circumscribing the commerce clause so that this issue is resolved in the popular branches rather than the court, as it should be and as he promised at confirmation. Direct quote: “It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices.” That’s one of the more conservative statements ever written in a majority opinion.

I expected the way the mainstream press would spin this: They go apeshit every time they achieve some pyrrhic victory from some backwater bench and proclaim The Inevitable Progress of History. What I can’t stomach is how the right is lapping up that leftist spin without so much as reading the opinion.

Wow. Just wow. (as the leftists would say)

You’ve been doing well here recently King A, but this left wing comment you just made is off the reservation.

Roberts is an epilepsy drug-addled neocon product of W’s presidency (lower p).

We’re supposed to be a republic and not a democracy.

Every conservative is supposed to recognize that pure democracy is just two wolves and a lamb deciding what they want for dinner.

Even Rachel Maddow said the other day that “rights” are not something that can be voted on, but apparently are.

You seem to be mimicking the neocon Charles Hurt’s BS “silver lining” article from yesterday http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/jun/28/hurt-silver-lining-now-obama-owns-his-tax-hikes/

Read the comments that 95% disagree with Hurt’s neocon nonsense. There is no silver lining in this. Roberts is a traitor.

There, Hurt says the “silver lining” of Roberts’ treachery (he was reviled in the dissenting opinion of Thomas, Kennedy, Alito, Scalia) is that we are all more likely to vote for Romney now.

Sure, it may be true that Romney is a sure thing now because the SC didn’t do its job and the public needs to desperately do what Roberts was supposed to do for them.

But Roberts basically just said that we live in a democracy and not a republic.

        Think about it.

It’s a radical left idea to say that the majority should rule.

And the influx of Mexicans will ensure the left’s ideal majority rules.

We have just lost big-time and it won’t matter all that much that, as consolation prize, we “might” get a Republican White House and Congress that will repeal the big “tax”.

The US was declared to be a democracy yesterday.

        The republic was, thereby, murdered.

The only “silver lining” is that Romney might replace Ginsburg with a real conservative, but you can bet that Ginsburg will step down in the next few months and Obama will replace her.

I am making a higher-order argument here, one that acknowledges the conservative media’s mimicry of the mainstream’s hero-worship, villain creation, and lowest-common-denominator ratings logic. The ruling is easier to digest when Roberts is a dastardly traitor or unwitting chump, rather than a jurist whose excellence is not discernible without some familiarity with the court. No, the best you can do is say: he didn’t give me the result I wanted (or expected), therefore he must be my enemy.

Peel the onion a layer further, shit-for-brains.

      • and Roberts could have easily made his “this is a tax” argument and limited the Commerce Clause while simultaneously limiting the power of the feds to tax people for breathing and doing nothing (not buying insurance) and upholding the idea that we are a republic and not a democracy (that individuals don’t deserve the government a stupid majority votes for).

The 4 real conservatives on the court said as much. They were right. The ruling (and the immigration ruling) has only told us conservatives that Roberts is really on the other side. Maybe he’s being blackmailed. Who knows.

But it is obvious that Roberts should not have been appointed to the SC and one more disastrous result of the Bush Neocon Regime has come to light.

I always suspected that Roberts was going to be unreliable because he is clearly a religious collectivist like W.

He’s also forcing Obama to call it a tax. This has done more for Romney than for Obama. People would have been lax about voting Republican if this individual mandate had been struck down, Now they have no choice but to vote for him if they want to repeal this monster.

        Like

      • Are you saying that Kennedy, Thomas, Alito and Scalia were not strict constitutionalists in their dissent?

It sounds like you’ve read “silver lining” articles like this one http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/george-will-supreme-court-gives-conservatives-a-consolation-prize/2012/06/28/gJQAWyhY9V_print.html of George Will’s which, if this had a comment section, would be filled with much better arguments against the idea that Roberts did anything but become another Breyer.

Bush Senior accidentally put a liberal like Breyer on the court and it appears now that Bush Junior did the same thing with Roberts. I don’t happen to believe it was accidental.

Wouldn’t a strict constitutionalist have declared the 1913 Income Tax law invalid just in time for its 100 year anniversary, rather than support the idea that the government can tax you progressively or for doing nothing (failing to buy something).

It’s short term thinking to be happy that this ruling has increased Romney’s chances of being elected. Sure it has. But it wasn’t Roberts job to tactically help that happen.

Because that only means we want to have Romney nominate a real 5th conservative to replace the guy who said “if you want the 5th conservative on the Supreme Court that I don’t happen to be, vote for Romney”.

You can see the circular logic there.

Maybe Roberts cares about other issues, like banning pornography, so much that he wants to blackmail independents into voting for a Mormon whose ideal SC nominees are unknown to most of us.

I would have preferred that Roberts did his job like Kennedy, Alito, Thomas and Scalia did (surely the liberals did their jobs well). Then we would have been more free to pressure Romney into nominating someone more like Judge Napolitano to be the “6th conservative vote”. Now we need to scramble to win back a 5th vote.

He had the power to drive a stake into the vampire now and chose not to. At best you can say he was daring Americans to repeal the 16th Amendment (federal income tax), which isn’t going to happen, or else suffer.

It’s also insane to believe that Roberts has now forced the Democrats to openly say this and new laws they introduce are really about taxation.

No. The Democrats are not going to admit that Obama Care is a tax just because Roberts said it was. They are only going to say that he upheld their law. When they make more laws, they won’t feel compelled to admit that they are about taxation even if they understand that the Supreme Court might eventually upheld these laws as taxation.

Anyone who thinks Roberts just forced liberals to verbally admit that the individual mandate is a “tax” doesn’t understand human beings.

Yes, the dissent was correct. But enforcing their unimpeachable logic over the unruly unwashed is a whole different consideration altogether. And Roberts had the foresight and maneuverability to give the Republicans the map, the directions, and the flashlight. You don’t need to expend social capital here defending this and calling people names. Choose your battles more wisely please.

There are now several good accounts online about how the real 4 conservatives were put into shock by his insane girlish worrying about how the New York Beta Times would think about the court’s “validity” if he ruled with them.

The great unwashed would not have been able to do anything about it if he had ruled wisely.

The US should not have been ruled a pure democracy with that nonsense about small government people needing to convince enough others to help them make a majority.

That will rarely happen even if it does happen temporarily this November.

This isn’t about the ACA but about the principle that the majority should not rule over the smart people. A republic was set up to save smart people from the mob. Roberts disagrees with the idea of a republic and the idea that the Supreme Court should save the people from a hyperactive Congress.

      • If it were a true shift leftward, rather than the conservative act of self-restraint that it was, Roberts would have joined the leftbots in their much more straightforward commerce-clause argument rather than insisting in his (unusually splintered) majority opinion that the law survives judicial review based on the most narrow of reasons, under Congress’ taxing power. Conservatives on the appeals courts who wanted to uphold the law did exactly that. There must be a reason why the Chief Justice of the United States took a more casuist approach to the case. There must be a reason why Roberts initially sided with his four dissenting colleagues, but switched late. The idea that he was cowed by the New York Times is exactly what leftists want you to believe.

Meantime, a far more energized right is steaming toward November now, and even Vanilla Wafer Romney is beginning seeing the tea boil over. “What the Court did not do on its last day in session, I will do on my first day if elected president.” It’s the first one-liner that empty suit ever managed to deliver in six years of running for president.

There are political purposes to insensate conservative rage, and I am glad Roberts elicited it, even though it is a mark of the bumpkin-right’s activist stupidity. Stay mad. You are being used and you seem to like it. If more conservatives understood how they are being played, they might resent the condescension. Luckily there is no chance of that happening, as you demonstrate at the micro level, even though I just explained it to you in detail.

  33. Eh, business has some role in this too.

The original studies showed that eating beef was bad for you. But the beef industry wouldn’t let them publish that. So they said that fat (which beef is full of) was bad for you. Cue the large amount of technically fat-free high-calorie carb deluge…and that’s why everyone’s got *diabetes* (high blood sugar, right?) rather than heart disease. Though diabetes gives you heart disease eventually.

Of course the food industry was just responding to market forces–people want to eat food that tastes good, and our instincts evolved to crave fat and sugar because we evolved in scarcity, so sugar and fat will help sell your food–but that’s why we need government regulation to slow the tide of lard.

Now of course pushing women into the workplace leaves them no time to cook, removing an important check on the fattification of America.

But most of the great disasters (think of immigration, where Republicans want cheap labor and Democrats want votes, or the subprime crisis, where Republicans didn’t believe in regulation and Democrats forced the banks to lend to minorities who couldn’t pay them back) are bipartisan.

You can argue this is the neocon fake-right rather than the real paleocon right, but I hear the same thing from the left about how the corporate soft-left has hijacked the Democractic party and prevented them from implementing any real economic redistribution.

  39. Remember when “Home Economics” was a thing? When it was accepted that one person in a marriage would have the job of providing healthy meals cheaply? And not just meals, but all the stuff that goes along with living.
The two things that are making “home economics” irrelevant. One is cheap goods – particularly clothing – from China. The other is cheap food. And it’s worthwhile noting that neither of these things can go on forever. When the oil starts running out, food prices will skyrocket. Fast food, in particular, will cease to be a thing.
Arguably: we point out that men “no longer have a role”, and that’s true. But the first people to lose their role, their value, were women. Their place in life was erased by mechanisation and the phosphate fertiliser revolution. That’s why they are so lost. They didn’t stop being housewives, so much as that housewifery became less valued. So what if your wife knows how to darn a sock? Buy new ones!
Feminism is the result, not the cause, of this great societal change.

It was so easy. Took the self-rightousness out of losing some weight.

Anyhow, I think under Obamacare we are going to see the govt cracking down on obesity, just like it cracked down on cigarette smoking. Taxing and restricting. For example, smart people wanting less kids? Not really. Ever seen most engineers, doctors and scientists? Do they look like they need to get some sun and hit the gym? Could that be the factor? I’d say yes. I look at people-of-walmart *shudder* and there are plenty of retards out there who aren’t as kids oriented.

Take the case of luxury. A “hotel” was created for rats. They had _everything_. You’d think they fuck until the whole place is full to the brim with fucking rats. No. After a certain amount of numbers, they just stopped.

    http://www.cracked.com/blog/5-sci-fi-dystopias-weve-actually-created-for-animals/

Now look at the West. What is it that we don’t have? From the iPads to the free healthcare (yes, one way or another, US has free healthcare). You really don’t need to struggle all that much. At most of our jobs, it’s pretty hard to get fired. I mean, plenty of massive corporations that have countless drones that don’t do jack, they just suck up the benefits and the pay and just relax (unless prodded and sometimes they leave).

If you want society to improve, have people grow their own food like they did in the 40’s and 50’s. The same genes that gave you proud and poor people now give you people-of-walmart. This shit is genetic. It’s not cultural all of a sudden. But, you can force people to learn to help themselves and one another like people and not have human trash in our streets.

Smart people-oriented types (doctors, lawyers, etc.) seem to have little trouble reproducing. Among whites, it’s a known fact that Republicans have higher birth rates than Democrats, and AFAIK it doesn’t seem to make much difference whether they are smart and high-income or hillbillies. (Yes, there are Democrat hillbillies. What state was Bill Clinton governor of?) So my impression of white birth rates is that it doesn’t appear to be higher among the dumber classes. This was true in the past, as The Bell Curve noted, but it’s not anymore. In fact, it may have flipped the other way.

The most deleterious dysgenics actually seems to be occurring among blacks. They are monolithically Democrat, and if we use the birth rates of married black women as a proxy for smart blacks, they’re the same as for white Democrats; i.e., quite low. The black underclass, OTOH, is notoriously prolific because of the women’s failure to use birth control. (It’s not as bad as it was in, say, 1990, but we still see cases in the national news of a black guy having to pay child support for 30 kids.)

More women thinking that what makes a man attractive will make them attractive.

    Like

    • Actually I’d argue the other way around. Peacocking in women isn’t really peacocking it’s just default (young, single) behavior. It doesn’t make the woman more attractive, but it makes her more noticeable or approachable.

Note the hottest women often combine both– signaling sexual availability with tight, revealing clothes and ridiculous (and highly neggable) amounts of jewelry, accessories, and crazy hairstyles along with a self-absorbed, ‘leave-me-alone’ attitude to scare away betas.

One thing the article gets wrong, though: men don’t fear rejection. Women fear rejection. Men fear failure. They fear humiliation (especially public humiliation), they fear social consequences and they fear the unknown. A man doesn’t want to be a loser, he doesn’t want to be a laughingstock, he doesn’t want to be an outcast, and he doesn’t want to be a pawn in some girl’s personal drama especially if it involves a jealous, violent ex-boyfriend. THAT is what scares men away from approaching women, rejection is the easy part (for men).

For women, rejection is a more direct insult and an indicator of her low smv. For men, rejection without any of those other consequences just means, “keep trying.” Just look at the behavior of men online, where odds of rejection are extraordinarily high but the consequences of that rejection are minimal.

  50. I think feminism probably plays some role in the obesity epidemic, but I doubt it is a major part of the problem. Feminism is much more prominent in most European countries and those countries have much lower obesity rates. The main reason for obesity in America, in my opinion, is the lack of shame associated with it. The tipping point has been reached and it is no longer stigmatized.

There is an unending supply of pathetic men in this country who are so desperate for female attention they will go after anything – fatties, single moms, headcases, tattooed tramps, etc. Thanks to the nanny state, women no longer have to worry about finding a decent, high-status guy to provide for them – all they need from men is sex. And, practically any woman, no matter how damaged, can easily get that whenever she wants.

And, as to women working outside the home, let’s be honest, this is not the fault of feminism. It is practically impossible for most working class families to survive on one income these days. The problem is long hours and an abundance of cheap, fatty foods.

The problem with hypergamy is that women automatically consider the resources provided by men to be communal property but anything the cunty wife earns is hers. Some women go so far as to keep their income seperate and hidden if possible while his money goes directly into the joint account to pay all the bills. “Her money” is for things like clothes, foobs, take out food, or maid service which directly lessens her contribution for her share of the drudge work. Meanwhile, he is working on the cars, playing chauffuer, fixing everything that breaks, and doing 96% of the outdoor work. This is why the relationships often go bad after the man loses his income. She now has to sacrafice “her” resources to provide for him, something which is unbearable to a modern liberated woman.

then why does she work at all

Well first off, I didn’t say I could afford a lavish lifestyle on my salary alone – I said jointly. On my salary alone, we could live comfortably, not lavishly. She is planning to go into academia in a few years, so at this point I will be the primary bread-winner.

Secondly, and by far the most important, I care about Quality – in every aspect of life I aim for Quality over Quantity. My aim is to produce kids who are world beaters. Just being Alpha, highly intelligent, healthy and successful myself won’t guarantee this – as I contribute just 50% of my kids DNA. So I need a wife who can demonstrate she is somewhat smart, hard-working and ambitious. It’s not the first thing I look for in a mate, but when requirements have been met, like beauty, figure, age, fitness and so on, then I take this into consideration.

My results have been impressive to date:
        1. 8 yo daughter, top student in her grade in school – mostly A+, some A’s – gifted academically, great at sport, additionally I’ve had people approach me ever since she was a few months old to have her photographed for kids commercials/modelling, she’s that good looking.
        2. 3 yo son, vocabulary that of a 6/7 yo, very athletic, very good looking
        3. 1 yo daughter, very advanced for her age both cognitively, physically.

These nations have LOW obesity rates and also have a way higher standard of living than the US. Actually, these countries are at the top of the list for almost everything: innovation, economic development, environmental sustainability, etc. So actually, it would appear that the example set by these nations shows that what the US needs is MORE feminism, not less.

      • The connection between gender equality and prosperity is a feedback loop — in a post-agrarian society, affluence breeds gender equality, which breeds betas, who breed affluence.

She is wrong for a different reason — in treating gender equality and feminism as inseparable. History provides no shortage of cultures where domestic women systemically wield indirect power, without having to dominate male institutions. Feminism, on the other hand, revolves indisputably around females taking over male roles in society.

Obviously, this results in a female-ordered society where men are driven out of the workplace by their comparatively autistic social capacities. Most men are intrinsically disadvantaged in a society where bonding and networking is rewarded more than productivity and abstract thinking — guppies are an illustrative exception. The institutions men created are being taken over by females and there’s no way around it.

As to what happens when men are removed from governance, we don’t need to argue it. When a society assumes the social structure of the third world, its institutions will assume the efficacy of the third world’s. We’re right and history will prove us right, and the manosphere needs to start formulating a legitimate approach to the issue beyond libertine nihilism. We’ll see how that plays out, though.

    • That’s because they have mostly Northern Europeans living there, like, oh, the U.S. in 1950, which also had low obesity rates and a higher standard of living than the U.S. in 2012. Not because of the feminasties.

What the US needs (and had at one time, during its ascendance, surprise, surprise) is more Northern Europeans.

I think you need to do more research. You’re confusing a lot of measures and benchmarks here. The U.S. is by far the most innovative nation- we publish about 75% of all peer reviewed scientific articles for instance. Most patents, books published, manufacturing, higher standard of living as well.

    • They have stable food cultures. We don’t. Thus they were far more resistant to fad food changes. When Atkins came out, the US just decided to stop eating bread on a dime unlike cultures who had no intention of changing their 1000 year old cultures. You also assume it had the same negative associations. Cooking was considered selling out for feminists.

  72. Elle – Northern Europe is full of WHITE PEOPLE. America is at the bottom of the modern world due to its huge size of minorities (e.g. blacks and hispanics). If anything Elle, Northern Europe is getting fucked by feminism and multiCULTuralism. Those days of high achievement are long gone.

@ David- Check out the EUWIIN (European Women Inventors and
Innovators Network) and tell me that women don’t invent anything. We have been oppressed for a long time. It takes several generations for an oppressed group to realise their full potential… but it is happening slowly. Interestingly enough, in the 19th century, it was a commonly held belief that women were incapable of writing good novels (or some believed they could not write well at all), yet now, some of the best and most famous authors out there are women. We will prove our capabilities in other fields too. It has already begun Just wait…

    • It’s still a commonly held belief that women are not good novelists. I’ve never read a Tolstoy or a Melville among women writers. If women were so good at everything, they would simply do them and not expect male approval for simple tasks men do every day. Most women can’t even read a map or correlate cause and effect, much less repair a clogged sink. Right now, you feminiists succeed because you have forced men in leadership positions to force the rank and file men of society to aid and abet your efforts at their expense. What will you do when men stop subsidizing your fantasies of sexual dominance?

Eventually, you will become a big enough nuisance that we will have to slap you down. What will you do when men have been marginalized to the point they no longer want to participate in your little games of social dominance and the Western World becomes Haiti?

Fred Reed said it best- women can run the world – until the oil needs changing.

Elle, that’s only “true”, if you move the goalposts of what “good” novels actually are…

Like for instance – take this tripe which is marketed as “good”:

  77. Very astute observations, collapseofman. Although, as always, the best at nearly everything are still men. Highly socially and politically adept and manipulative politicians are typically men. In fact, female politicians seem to have a bit of a “tin ear” when it comes to the nuances of pleasing an electorate. We have had a string of high-profile female failures of late in Australian political life.

That Guy, I am not that fussy about my shirts. It is more that my wife likes me to look neat and professional, or she did before I retired. Besides, it is a bit of an Australian tradition to have the missus ironing away as the man of the house watches TV.

Also, That Guy, thanks for the info on IQ. I have always been interested in the issues surrounding high IQ. (Not that mine is that stellar.)

I mean, that’s what this seems like…America is getting fatter because women have to work…and there’s no way men could pick up any slack? I don’t mean to sound like some lefty commo man hater, I just want to be clear.

[heartiste: men don’t like to cook unless it’s over a grill. Women on average prefer cooking. and men who “pick up the slack” in the kitchen soon find themselves suffering the contemptuous gazes of their turned off women. or: be careful what you wish for.]
