Lift Weights, Cut Carbs, Intermittently Fast

The verdict is in: all the dietary, exercise, and longevity science is converging on a holistic lifestyle recommendation for health, vigor, and anti-aging youthfulness.

Lift weights

Weight lifting better for heart health than running

Scientists looking at the health records of more than 4,000 people have concluded that, while both forms of exercise reduce the risk of developing heart disease, static activities such as weight lifting or press-ups have a greater effect than an equivalent amount of dynamic exercise such as running, walking or cycling.

The research challenges commonly held assumption that so-called “cardiovascular” pursuits like running are of greatest benefit to the heart.

However, it backs up previous studies which suggest that heavy static exercise gives the circulatory system a better workout because the oxygen expenditure is more intense.

Replace Carbs with Fat

How a Low-Carb Diet Might Help You Maintain a Healthy Weight

Adults who cut carbohydrates from their diets and replaced them with fat sharply increased their metabolisms.

…a large new study published on Wednesday in the journal BMJ challenges the conventional wisdom. It found that overweight adults who cut carbohydrates from their diets and replaced them with fat sharply increased their metabolisms. After five months on the diet, their bodies burned roughly 250 calories more per day than people who ate a high-carb, low-fat diet, suggesting that restricting carb intake could help people maintain their weight loss more easily.

Fast at least 16 hours each day, or 20-24 hours twice per week

Can the science of autophagy boost your health?

…fasting does stimulate autophagy [ed: cell cleaning], he said, and its benefits had also been proven by other studies.

Autophagy was first discovered in the 1960s, but its fundamental importance was only recognised after Yoshinori Ohsumi’s research in the 1990s.

“What we’ve discovered is that it protects against diseases like Parkinson’s, Huntington’s and certain forms of dementia,” said Dr Rubinsztein.

“It also seems to be beneficial in the context of infection control, as well as protecting against excessive inflammation.”

It’s Mangan’s world, we’re just living in it.

PS Steve Sailer on the latest diet study.

PPS This is interesting, and funny: “What a week of groceries looks like around the world“. I see a lot of crappy packaged foods in the US and UK, and fresh fruits and veggies everywhere else. Mongolians are big meat eaters. Mexifats love soda. Germans love beer. Italians love bread. And those aren’t Canadians. Or Australians. (And is it really that difficult to find a White family in America?)

PPPS Rogue Health & Fitness is a great website for quickly getting up to speed on the latest science in health and longevity. Mangan to his credit has been on top of this stuff for a while, and the legacy media is only now catching up. The proof is in the photo. Check the front page for a pic of Mangan. This post is particularly interesting — The Rise and Fall of Heart Attacks — because it explores reasons why the US heart attack rate peaked in 1970 and dropped precipitously by 2010 to levels not seen since 1910 (a trend most people are unaware of).

Dr. David Grimes wrote: “Few people are aware that coronary heart disease (CHD) has been an epidemic of the latter half of the 20th century. It is now almost over.” […]

Three Factors: Cigarettes, Hydrogenated Seed Oils, and Sugar

To see what factors may have caused the rise in heart disease, we should ask what factors were low to non-existent in 1900, and that are known to cause heart disease, which then increased in the course of the century.

Annual per capita cigarette consumption in the U.S. in 1900 was 54 cigarettes. (Source.) Machine-manufacturing caused the price of cigarettes to drop, and per capita consumption rose dramatically to over 4000 by 1965, and currently stands at about 1000. Less than 5% of Americans smoked cigarettes in 1900, while 42% were smokers in 1965. […]

The culprit is not nicotine, but the chemical stew of thousands of toxic chemicals that forms when tobacco is ignited.

Besides hydrogenated seed oils, regular liquid seed oil use became commonplace in the 20th century. Soybean oil use per capita rose more than 1000-fold from 1900 to 1999. Use of vegetable (seed) oils raises the risk of heart disease.

Sugar consumption rose greatly in the 20th century. Sugar is associated with coronary heart disease.

My candidates for the cause of its rise are cigarettes, seed oils, and sugar.

Meat didn’t have anything to do with it.

What’s notable is that the decline in deaths from heart attacks which began around 1970 coincided with the *increase* in obesity. Cigarettes suppress appetite, so the decline in smoking may have promoted a rise in the obesity rate. Sugar consumption has continued to increase right up until the present, so that likely played a role in the obesity pandemic as well. And finally, SOY. Soybean oil consumption really took off about the same time as the obesity crisis.

Why weren’t there many fat Americans in the early part of the 20th Century? Smoking was almost nonexistent then, so appetite suppression caused by cigarette use can’t explain it. Hydrogenated seed oil wasn’t introduced until 1911, so that seems a likelier cause of the increase in overweight Americans as mid-century approached. Sugar consumption has been rising since 1840 but really took off after 1880. That could be a culprit. But my guess is that Americans were thinner a hundred years ago because we a.) didn’t eat as much b.) moved our bodies a lot more c.) ate good fats and unrefined, high fiber carbs and d.) weren’t drinking water teeming with endocrine disruptors.

  1. Got to love how the US family in the “what the families of the world eat weekly” is black. And the Australian family seems to be Aboriginal. The English family still appears to be white and not Paki or Indian and the German family is white too. Somebody must have messed up…

      • yeah, and they act shocked when you point out the obvious

      • you will get the same type of explosive anaerobic style workout from jiu jitsu, judo, or wrestling and will build a hell of a lot more capability than weight lifting. Weights are great but…ehhh…not really.

    • Instead of groceries the Aboriginal family was carrying around its extra babies.

    • The Canadian family is mixed native/white; so common out west
mother probably full native or close to.
Lol at her being a Mountie…
hubby probably works for a crown corporation judging by the phyz.

    • “And the Australian family seems to be Aboriginal”. They Aboriginal, this is another example of just how biased the mass media are and how indoctrinated the people in the press. Aboriginals are 2% approx of the Australian population, you hardly ever see them in the cities. The vast majority of Australians are white just like the vast majority of Americans are white.

  2. Hey CH, I’m looking for some LTR advice. Where can I email you?

    [CH: for now, at:

  3. Before I was reading a lot “marks daily apple” it is a excellent site for nutrition informations. I was playing with my diet very much to see what made me feel my best. Naturaly I never was eating very much meat,, Maybe chicken 2 times in the week and fish 3 times. Small things like snails,,(because in fasting they are premited) but are they really meat? Beef I was feeling I can take or leave. I decide before maybe 5 years to try the primal eating plan and even it was more meat than I prefer,, I felt wonderfull physicaly. My weight did not change but my energy was very high. Small issues like bloating before menses disapeared. In that time I was swimming very much and I could swim more far with our to tire so easy.

Now I do not eat that way but my diet is for sure more high fat. Before I was phobic of how much fat I add to foods but now I use a lot. I add extra also to my son’s foods. I will not buy “low fat” any thing. Yogurt must be goat and full fat. And do not trust the children’s ready foods even in pharmacy,, they are fill of sugars.
In my pregnancy starting in 2 trimester I started to crave SO much steaks. I was maybe 1 time a year steak eater before. Now I cook the beef 2 times in the week.

The reason we do not eat primal all the time is because it clashes with Orthodox fasting. I do not tolerate legumes good accept lentils which I soak and cook with very lot of Olive oil.

Actualy, here I have seen a big increase on obesity. I think so because we have so much bakerys. Orthodox who really fast do not get fat even if they are not eating meat because the point of fasting is to eat just enough to sustain to you. Some who is more traditional Orthodox take it like oportunity to eat vegan everything (cakes substitute more sugar and oil because no eggs or butter) etc.

I think the primal diet is optimal for the best health.

  4. Also, the Turkish family appears to eat nothing but carbs and they aren’t obese. That seems to kill the carbs are bad theory. Of course carbs aren’t bad. The reason that people are obese is the quantity of the foods eaten, not the foods themselves. Look up the “Twinkie diet study” for proof. I think Americans are obese due to the abundance of easy carbs COMBINED with the stress of Marxism economics, multiculturalism and diversity causing everyone to eat more. It’s all about culture.

  6. Lift weights, intermittent fast, and don’t eat animal products or processed foods.

It isn’t about trying to subsist on kale. The best things you can eat are potatoes, corn, grains, beans, and fresh fruits and vegetabes. You’ll be strong, healthy, masculine, and live a long time.

I recently lost about 40 lbs going keto and fasting. Which is great. I also exercise all the time and lift. I look great and have a 6 pack. Fine. My blood pressure was also 150/90. So I go to the doctor. He recommended a plant-based diet. Or drugs. With the caveat that if I start the BP drugs I’m going to progressively need more drugs and eventually surgeries and will have decreased quality of life and spend the last 20 years of my life dying slowly from cardiovascular problems and cancer.

I changed my diet. I quit eating meat, dairy, eggs (which sucks, I raise chickens), and all processed foods including oil. In 1 week my blood pressure was back in the normal range.

I’m not a vegan. I wear a leather jacket. I have no problem killing animals. But I strongly believe eating meat is bad for me. It’s probably bad for everybody. If you want to talk about big pharma, nothing helps them like people getting fat as fuck eating meat and grease.

CH, you are right about so much but not this.

There are plenty of nutrients in plants without all the shit that’s in meat including fish and chicken.

Glad you’re feeling better, and like everything subjective, you do what is best for you. But this plant diet is just not able to give a man what he needs.

    • bigjohnn33; I found your post very interesting.

I eat a mainly plant based diet and agree that this is one area where the manosphere may be incorrect; after all PBT has been shown to reverse heart disease and reduce PSA levels in men.

One thing that I do find is that those who eat PBT often look a little ‘too’ thin – how have you found maintaining/adding muscle on this diet? I’ve added wild salmon and free range chicken breast to my diet to try and help with this.

But yes I think everyone should learn about nutrition and strive for excellent nutrition – it sets you apart and sets you up for a good life; in an average day I eat a wide range of fruit and veg; things like sweet potatoes/carrots (with fat from nuts/avocado to maximise cartenoid absorption), oats, kale, beans ect…keep you naturally lean, and like you I’m not a vegan, but I can’t help but wonder is there a ‘sweet spot’ in terms of adding quality meat to one’s diet.

    • No animal products? That is not healthy.

    • “I don’t eat the main food humans evolved eating for millions of years pre-agriculture.”

Does that seem wise to you? Do you really think your body is optimized to operate on foods that were not available until the recent (in evolutionary terms) agricultural revolution?

All those “studies” that showed red meat is bad for us did not control for confounding factors like smoking, drinking, exercise, sugar consumption. These factors are more significant than the factor being studied. Absolute shit studies. Fatty meat is the best thing you can eat. WE EVOLVED ON IT.

A non-standard diet is always going to be superior to a standard shitty Western diet. You’ll inevitably see benefits in the short term no matter what non-standard diet you adopt. But do some research on long-term vegans and vegetarians who permanently compromised their health and were only able to heal, if at all, by adding meat back into their diets. There are thousands of them out there, and lots of them speak out against vegan/vegetarian diets, from experience.

Please be careful with your health and do some honest research into the matter before you do yourself any permanent damage. By virtue of the fact that you’re reading this site, I assume you’re at least an ok guy, which is why I took the time to write this. Eat lots of fatty meat, eliminate sugar, reduce carbs.

Once you’ve done some research, immediately find a new doctor. He is ignorant and dangerous if he’s recommending a plant-based diet. He is fucking clueless.

Most doctors do not know anything about nutrition. Why anyone would expect them to be is a mystery. They aren’t trained in it at all.

This idea that medical doctors are experts in every area of life is a jooish idea. And a stupid one at that.

      • Millions of years. Lol. Millions of years ago we were chimpanzees in africa.

Anyway, no. All large successful populations of humans have subsisted primarily on plants, with the notable exception perhaps of Aboriginal Australians. Your ancestors likely subsisted primarily on some combination of wheat, corn, rice, barley, potatoes, legumes, etc. That is what you are evolved to eat.

Widespread reliance on meat as a primary food source is a new thing, and it is creating a lot of serious health problems. Especially as people are living a long time.

It would not be difficult at all to find another doctor who would happily make a bunch of money treating my symptoms with drugs and surgery rather than address the actual underlying causes of the problem.

One thing he said really stuck with me:

      • If your eyes are on the front of your head (dogs, cats), it’s a pretty good clue that you were intended to stalk and chase down prey. If your eyes are on the side of your skull (horses, cattle), you’re designed to graze with your head down all day and every day.

Wheat, corn, rice, barley, etc, are comparatively very new (circa 9,000 BC) additions to mankind’s diet. Our bodies have not yet fully adapted to using them as a food source. Humans would be much better off eating (and exercising) like our pre-agricultural ancestors.

And a lot of doctors, like mechanics, are of the “try this-try that” school when your particular malady is not balls-ass obvious.

What you’ve done with your diet is to radically increase your PHYTOESTROGENS.

As a general rule of thumb, excess testosterone is bad for your heart, and estrogens tend to ameliorate that.

The problem, of course, is when you go full-soy & start growing manboobs & a salamander neck & a goofy glory-hole smile in the middle of your face.

Also, the phytoestrogens tend to increase your risk of cancer.

tl;dr == Your new diet decreases your risk of heart disease, but at the expense of decreasing your sperm count & increasing your cancer risk.

There’s a theory in Evolutionary Biology circles which holds that plants developed the ability to produce Phytoestrogens as a means of imposing BIRTH CONTROL upon the animals which eat the plants.

So that e.g. the moar the Whitetail deer eat your roses, the fewer baby Whitetail deer get born [assuming your roses produce phythoestrogens].

Anyway, estrogens tend to be good for a high-testosterone man’s heart health [if they can tone down some of his Type A personality and get him to relax a little moar and chill out], but they’re bad for his ‘nads and his cancer risks.

And not that I’m gonna sit here and say that it’s a credible diet… but weight watchers recently changed eggs to a zero point food because of the health benefits and newer research that points out that all that extra cholesterol doesn’t stay in your blood stream longer than a day.

Organic eggs have richer yolks. Even my wife had to admit it and she couldn’t give less of a shit about the food she eats. Blessed with a tiny frame and high metabolism. But I digress.

Their shells are frustratingly thicker. This is universally tied to bird health. They are harder to crack and get more shell fragments in your food. Shell thickness is tied directly to bird health.

I love eggs and think they are excellent for you. But pony up the extra 1.50 a dz for organic or bug eating homestead chicken eggs.

You will be nauseated by the idea of thin shell, pale yolk factory eggs. Put a fried organic egg on top of a 130 degree perfect grass fed steak and I guarantee your dick will gain a quarter inch. It just tastes like liquid muscle growth.

Definitly. We have eggs from my mother in law chickens and they are very different. The yolk is a bright orange (super market eggs more time have yellow yolk). And the yolk is where the good part is.

And the free range chickens much more healthy. When I buy chicken for convenience from the super market and is packaged, it is very different from the fresh free range one. They are more small and not as much fat. They are more white in the skin also,, free range is a lovely yellow from eating corn. It is more time consuming to prepare them for sure,, neck still on and insides in place,, but even when you are cooking it smells more wonderfull. It is worth some extra minutes in preparation.

    • If you go vegan/plant-based, you MUST do it intelligently, or, you end up fat and fucked up. I was vegan for 15 years, found I could get stronger on it, but man, I ended up a fat fuck at 285 justifying my 300+ lb. overhead press and 600 lb. beltless squat by “as long as I get stronger, it has to be good!”, except I would wheeze after climbing 2 flights of stairs and somehow, my bloodwork was also shitty even with years of no animal by-products. Had a vitamin D deficiency that almost ended in suicide (you do not want to endure years of rock-bottom D levels, it will fuck with your head in strange ways), and that was the breaking point, anything that can fuck me up that much can’t be the right diet for me, period.

Went back to meat/dairy about 5 years back, lost 75 lbs, kept 80% of my strength, feel good, look better at 45 than I did at 30, have a dick that works again, fewer depressive mood swings, blood work comes back better than when I was vegan, I enjoy my food again and look at quality rather than quantity, and realize it’s fucking BALANCE that makes you better, no such thing as a perfect diet for everyone, if you won’t spend your life experimenting and finding what works best for YOU, it’s a doomed life of feeling like shit and using the daily crap you find online in the “news” to validate why you’re still 50+ lbs overweight and sad about how your body feels/looks. Learn about proper nutrition, learn about macronutrient balance, and find what works for you in the long run. I convinced myself that my vegan-based food choice deprivation made me feel “great’’ those first few years, but we all tend to try and validate our wacky decisions in ways that don’t really pan out in real life.

    • Disagree. Running is for endurance. It lets you do what you can do power wise, longer. I have a hige aerobic base built up over decades from long distance running and switched over to weight lifting in my 30s. Youd be hard pressed to find a 20 yo even to keep up with me at work. Each has its place. If you’re rail thin and weak then yeah cut out some cardio in favor of strength building and if youre fat as hell and strong but get winded 10 minutes into something physical you could stand to do some steady state endurance.

At one point I could run a 5:xx mile, bench 300 lbs, squat 4, touch a 10 foot rim at over 40 yo.
Couldnt have had that endurance from just running 100m to 400m repeats, it came from long distance, slow at that. Couldnt have benched 300 without the concept of progressive overloading which I was first exposed to through teachings of one Arthur Lydiard. A distance guru who also coached NZ famous All Blacks rugby to run more distance.

      • In fact I have a saying that goes something like this, and it really only applies to work mostly, “You only need to be as strong as the hardest lifting task your job requires, the rest is all endurance.” To take that to another level, I’d say a huge part of endurance is mental toughness. We all get tired. What separates the guys that give up from the guys that keep going? Mental toughness. For me that’s developed by repition via consistently putting in miles even when tired. Doesn’t have to marathon or ironman type mileage, not even close. Most healthy males would benefit tremendously from 20-40 minutes of steady state running 3 times a weak at a pace you can carry on a conversation comfortably. Every once in a while you throw in a comfortably hard 10 to 15 minute effort once a week followed by easy days. That with weights, a good diet, some mobility work and a martial art….you ain’t doing much better than that.

  9. I’ll give you another tip. Ditch the caffeine!!! Stop drinking coffee!!!

The withdrawals are brutal for a week. But it will pay off with more energy and crazy boners in the long run.

  10. A friend of mine owned a security company that was awarded a contract for an “IronMan’ event that came to town. He was scrambling for help and asked us if we would work it with him. I can assure you after spending the day there in close proximity to these ‘athletes’, there were no real IronMen to be found. They looked skinny, but very unhealthy. I concluded that most were middle-aged & middle-management corporate types trying to compensate for some lost childhood of not playing sports.

And eight to twelve hours per day of that sh!t on the weekends?

      • The funny thing was, an old neighbor of mine really got into it. Purchased a bike for something like 2K. We were never buds, but would talk on occasion when out in the yard etc. He was determined to do this first Ironman. His wife , who clearly was in charge, even felt the bike was a bit excessive. Long story short, he wrecked the bike a few miles into that stage of the ‘competition’ and was done. 2G’s and 6 months of wasted time for a lousy swim in a shitty river with a bunch of other Herbs.

      • This guy below me…standard HS douche that was maybe 2nd or 3rd string on football team. Same guys I played football with on weekends all thru school and regularly trounced who had the nerve to call runners fags. Couldn’t make varsity on football, bball, or track but because he was in sniffing distance of the varsity guys jockstrap , that made him a stud by proxy.

Now ill agree that iron man and marathon type mileage and time commitments are indicative of something else not quite right…they still have my respect. As pure athletes, no but for people that set goals and go after them. There’s nothing faggot about that. Its always the loud mouth in the room thats most insecure.

Besides most of these extreme cardio guys know their body types wont have women knocking down their doors but its the tradeoff they’ve accepted.

My comment must have really gotten to you. Sorry some guy on the football team banged your GF, wife, or mother, but you need to get over it. I bet you have one of those Monsters Inc tattoos don’t you?

      • Not even close. Zero tattoos. If I caught you fucking my wife, is end your life in one way or another…since you brought it up.

On the rare occasion I got some 2nd stringer that only saw special teams duty call me a runner gag it was usually met with ok lets see you talk that shit Sunday when we play street football…not mention I could’ve started on every HS football team if I wanted to, I had a better chance at college offers in track mainly the mile, which should give you some insight of what possible height size range I could be. OR you can keep up with this fag nonsense…I’m open to posting videos if you wish or if you want to have a friendly competition and post the results on CH we can. But remember I’m the fag right, you have to beat me in whatever like I’m a fag..I just gotta perform better than expected from a fag? You game?

      • C’mon brother, you’re pretty loose with those words. Pick a competition and lets see…boxing, football, bball, lifting, wrestling, whatever if you’re sooo sure that anyone that has ever ran track or CC is such a fag. Lets make this happen.

Better act fast I’m currently about 220 and bout 30 lbs over fighting weight. I can travel id say up to 300 miles if need be…don’t need no training but if you want we can. We can get a hopefully neutral ref from the site and post results on the board! All in good fun! Jk I’m gonna roll you the best a fag can anyway!

  11. Interesting research.

I’d say not ‘all’ carbs are bad; but the only one’s I’d recommend are oats (with no added crap), and sweet potatoes (very nutrient dense, but must be consumed with fat for optimum nutrient absorption).

Obviously vegetable oils, hydrogenated oils ect…are fucking poison and should be eliminated completely. If you can’t grow it or kill it, don’t eat it. The vast majority of food in a western supermarket is poison that nobody has any business eating.

The godfather of the paleo movement, Art Devaney, was writing about autopahgy about 10 years ago, good to see it becoming mainstream via intermittent fasting becoming well known. People need to get comfortable with being hungry for a few hours; it’ll not do you any harm.

I think I always just ‘knew’ that endurance training was crap; the people you see out jogging never look like they’re having fun, do they. I prefer shorter more intense exercise.

I had reduced the amount of meat I was eating because of heart disease fears, but I’m in the process of adding more (good quality) meat in because I want to put some muscle on. I’m very fit and have great endurance when I need it on a largely plant based diet (with some wild fish), with low body fat that I’d guess is nearing single digits, but I’m a little too thin.

I’m in my mid 30’s and work for a university – what I’ve noticed is that many of the young dudes 15 years my junior are in terrible fucking shape these days – like visible man tits on young men who aren’t even ‘that’ fat, it’s a new kind of fat that didn’t exist even 15 years ago – I think their hormones are all fucked up.

    • Soak the oats,, to decrease the phytic acid. If the oats is not soaked they have many anti nutrient properties (they steal your iron, calcium etc.) And the good nutrients in the oats will not be absorbed if they are not soaked.

      • I think the less evil of all the grains is white rice. It is not bad,, but it is not good. It just is a good fill food if you are not needing to lose kilos. Any food with high level of phytates must be soaked imo. Legumes, grains. Oat bran for example is prooved to lower bad choltesterol. It is “anti oxidant”, as well as your cholesterol it is also lowering your iron, calcium, and other minerals. If some one really wants to eat grains it is important to eat them how our ancestors prepared them. Soaked, sprouted.

Maybe it’s because I’ve been eating oatmeal since I was 5, but I still consume up to two big bowls of it a day (just the straight plain kind cooked with milk and fruit thrown in) and it always leaves me feeling satiated and doesn’t slow me down.

At the same time… I’ve seen a lot guys saying even oats should be cut out of your diet, but I guess everyone reacts to certain foods differently.

    • If you eat nose to tail, you can avoid arterial inflammation. Or add gelatin to the diet with every meal that includes muscle tissue.
Muscle tissue based diets that are also high in Phosphates require extra calcium. Egg she’ll calcium is good in powdered form to supplement with.

  14. I worked on a tobacco market in the South years ago. It was, then a great spectacle quite literally out of another age. But one of the things I noted was the chemicals sprayed on to dried tobacco destined for cigarette manufacture. Guys wearing chem suits would spray up and down long open sided barns and without fail there would be some number of dead birds at either end.

I asked my father in law who was a multi generational tobacco man about it all and his explanation was the government regulation that came about when cigarette manufacture became mechanized. He observed the FDA required that cigarettes were then required to have a uniform burn time whereas before being more expensively hand rolled it was accepted there would be differences. Hence, the chemical additives to make certain each cigarette would have if not absolutely uniform burn time it would be un-measurable.

If you look at even heavy cigar smokers I think this bears out. Groucho, Uncle Milty, George Burns, Churchill all smoked somewhere between 8-10 large frequently Maduro cigars a day and lived well into theis 90’s and Burns topped a century. Cigarettes are a particular and destructive evil. That said it’s time for an AVO.

    • I’ve had good success cycling between a ketogenic diet and a managed macro diet. I let myself get up to 230 after the military, up from 185 at my fighting weight.

I’m back down to 200 now, and the carbs I eat are the simple ones in small quantities; potatoes, rice, oats. The only bread I eat is the sprouted stuff, and every couple of weeks I’ll have a burger with my kids.

And yea, cigars are very, very good.

The weight lifting article almost gets it right. The key factor is the intensity level. High-intensity cardio is better than weight lifting, but weight lifting is better than low-intensity cardio. Ideally you’d do both lifting and cardio.

Sprinting, cycle sprints, jump roping, or anything that shoots your heart rate to the moon. Keep it there for 15-20 min. Bring yourself to the brink, you should be seeing stars and approaching unconsciousness at the end of your workout. Do this once a day everyday.

I’m 35 and have a resting heart rate of 60bps. Every time a nurse takes my vitals she congratulates me on my cardiovascular health.

  16. 1900 is also when electric was really starting to get implemented and used to make machines that replace innumerable tasks.

Refrigeration was the big boy with food because things like butter and milk could be mass-produced and then transported without spoiling. Before then, a lot of Americans that weren’t farmers still kept a couple of chickens and a potentially a dairy cow for this purpose.

Nowadays, even cooking your own food from extremely easy starting blocks is too “inefficient” of a use of time for the big-city bugman, let alone cutting off a chickens head, boiling and removing the feathers, gutting it and then cooking it.

Nothing on G0d’s Green Earth is as good for back/neck/shoulder pain as is swimming some freestyle [“australian crawl”] up and down the lanes.

      • Yeah, that works the shoulders a ton and hits those muscle groups that dont get worked often enough.
Then again, you can also learn to do things like scapular retractions, scapular push and pull-ups.

      • A bloke who had success training racehorses in the Twenties, and boxers later on, told me that swimming is good for injuries that can’t take weight, but bad for everything else [bar swimming], because development of the swimming muscles acts like a handbrake on the other muscles.

    Alternate hypothesis:

Strength training does a better job of building “Collateral Circulation” in the heart’s coronary artery system. Collateral circulation refers to the development of new capillaries which develop as plaque forms in the main arteries. These collateral capillaries take pressure off of the plaque build up that develop in everyone’s coronary arteries which delays the plaque rupture which precipitates the total block of a main coronary artery. The collateral capillaries will also keep a trickle of blood flowing and buy time in case the Widow Maker (the LAD) gets blocked

My guess is strength training plus protein supplementation builds these capillaries in the same way it builds new muscle. Al I know is that I cheat-benched 300 lbs before most of you soiled your first diaper and that I was sent to a cardiologist at age 60 a few years back because of some moderate chest pains … only to discover that my LAD was 90-95% blocked and my Left Circumflex was 85%. This could have easily caused a full blown heart attack as opposed to the minor MI that occurred. The collateral circ was my salvation

A gentleman of my acquaintance wonders if there might be a number of dietary paths leading to the benefits described in this article. That is, it could well be that the right sort of vegetarian (and perhaps even vegan) diet, a purely carnivorous diet, and a mixed ketogenic diet might all lead to similar results.

  26. While I agree that weights are better for heart health than distance running (assuming you’re actually pushing yourself in the gym and sweating/struggling), I’d guess HIIT cardio (e.g. sprinting then walking over and over) is even better for the heart. I’d still recommend weights b/c it’s important to be strong and look good, and there is no replacement for weights in that regard.

However, that “study” “showing” that weights are better than running for heart health didn’t even control for diet, and as a result, it should be ignored. Lifters will generally eat more meat/fat than runners, many of whom are vegetarians/vegans, most of whom operate on higher carb diets. Just another retarded “study”, although I happen to think they luckily got the right conclusion, just based on my common sense.

Diet is the #1 factor in health, BY FAR. Eat lots of fat, medium protein, low/zero carb, as natural as possible, and IMO you’ll avoid all health issues at the source. Butter and ribeyes are good. Don’t let any mentally deficient soyboy faggots tell you otherwise.

  34. lifting weights is good for health (agreed)

running is good for… running. you may need to run sometimes, life requires that.

intermittent fasting is not for everyone. in my case it decreases lean mass and replaces it with fat.

I am pretty sure right now that 20 years from now, when we look back at this decade, the most retarded health fashion of the age will be intermittent fasting

just as we look at the cholesterol hypothesis today we will look at intermittent fasting a generation from now

    • ?

Fasting decreases lean mass and replaces it with fat?

I don’t see how that’s even possible. Doesn’t fasting FIRST go after any fat in the body, since it’s easier to break down for energy than going after muscle?

      • It can shock the body into Famine Mode, and start hoarding everything possible into the fat cells.

      • After just a day or so? I’m not talking no Mahatma Coate stuff here.

I did 24 hr distilled water fasts once a week but quit after a few years. It raised my blood pressure significantly and I looked ill.
I was also vegetarian at the time. This was about 20 years ago. Getting back on an animal based diet, including whole milk, and eliminating seed oils, and lifting made me healthy again

    • IF has its merits and like with everything else affects people differently.

When I first tried it I was able to slim down from when I was bulking–of which I learned my lesson. In fact, one lady coworker asked me if I was losing weight and asked me what my trick was. I told her I just stopped eating as much. She pfft at the idea, thinking I had some literal trick aside from changing up the diet.

I usually save the weekends for IF as I am the Snickers man that is not myself when I don’t eat. I do need to eat at regular intervals and on days I don’t workout, I don’t eat as much.

    • on November 17, 2018 at 9:45 pm Macro Investor

No. Studies have shown that fasting (even for weeks) does not destroy muscle. That is a fallacy.

Fasting actually increase growth hormone which protect lean mass.

From health benefits like massive increases of stemcell production, it being the highest stimulant of human growth hormone and yes the miracle of autophagy, to psychological positives that come from delaying gratification, and general mental sharpness, everyone here would be better doing IF and 24-48 hr fasts

BUT… not too often, and certainly NOT everyday.

In order for fasting to maintain these benefits, it needs to be a shock to the system. 8 hr eating windows is the least hardcore of IF, but only do that THREE or FOUR times per week. To do IF too often, your body overtime adjusts to the low calorie intake. You then either (A) stand a higher chance of putting on weight when you exceed the norm.

Or (B) by eating too much in a small amount of time, you flood your body with insulin. Eating too much, like with “Omad”, can not only hard on the heart but will inhibit benefits from sleeping(time where you burn the most fat btw) with your body working overdrive to digest and allocate nutrients.

As for full fasts, try twice a month at most. Once if youre new to it. And dont even think about soft or hard dry fasts until youre well practiced.

    • Snow is not the problem.

The mountain west is (was) a citadel of western civ, where white men hammered out the rhythm of honest living in proximity to Nature.

The kind of nature that can kill you with prompt indifference or feed your family and their souls; the arbiter being your will and your skill.

It is where echoes of what tamed this continent carried on.

I reckon there are a handful of such places, here and there. But in the mountain west, ie colorado, utah, wyoming, montana, and idaho, the jewels of these vast lands have been pillaged long ago by the infectious cosmopolitain progress imported from their coastal cousins. A pox that grows each day.

So you have to either go even more rustic and isolated than you likely have the stomach for, or end up in a colder and windier burgeoning Boulder like Bozeman or Jackson.

Personally, I’d love to see an influx of red hearted shitlords descend upon the constellation of blue-balling dots in the mountains to reclaim a foothold in the coming Separation.

Talking about going back in time to a healthier diet, I also do a fair amount of fermentation these days. So many probiotics and other healthy side effects from these old world foods. I recommend everyone put together a jar or two sauerkraut for a nice snack or side dish with your meals. Also, living in a blue mega-city, having this skill/knowledge seems attactive to women. Maybe because it’s a more primal skill set.

      Hello Bickle/Zippy and K,

You may recall that I featured Mr. Tesla’s works REPEATEDLY in earlier postings. Zippy, I specifically instructed you to diligently invest your time in the very productive pursuit of studying Tesla exclusively. It should have been your life’s work!

Because you are a frivolous person, lacking in character and determination, you did not heed my call.

I note that Mr. UK did, and appears to be studying TESLA, and the writings I recommended, rather than wasting time posting nonsense! THIS is why you will never evolve, or leave your parents cellar!

Mr. Tesla was the last great threat. A true genius; one who earned my highest respect!

You can see, even with a superficial study of his work, that he was able to HARNESS THE POWER OF NATURE!

How did he do so? By strict adherence to NATURAL LAW!

TESLA did not try to make NATURAL LAW adhere to his preconceived notions…he was a STUDENT of NATURE and learned from the SOURCE!

      And look what he accomplished!

What was seen of TESLA’s inventive mind is a mere fraction of his true discoveries. Sadly for you stupid humans, you will never taste of his greatest discovery!

Tesla was not an alien in the sense humans think of aliens. ANYONE can make the same discoveries he did! In fact, the average human has tools at its disposal TESLA could not ever imagine! NATURAL LAW is available to all…except the distracted!

      Laughing out Loud!

But go ahead and keep using your enormous computational power to play video games!

Keep using your internet connectivity to watch other humans feign copulation!

Ignore the vast knowledge buried in plain sight!

While Tesla had a gift in observing NATURAL LAW, he lacked an equal knowledge of the nefarious nature of his fellow man. A child with the power of nature in his grasp…but brought to heal by the amazing MONKEY MAN!

      Laughing out Loud!

Amazingly, young children are NOT TAUGHT the accomplishments of this great man! I wonder why that is?

      Laughing out Loud!

And, in case some on here are starting to think a bit, there is no similarity between CURRENCY $ and CURRENT (60 Hz)

Oy! CrazyMama 73 appears from the Aether to inform and enlighten!

Well, Reptilian is an emotionally charged word here, and elsewhere. So please forget the reptilian reference for now and consider the following “facts” and “questions”…

Who are the “Children of Israel?” Why was their seed blessed? Why were they told not to inter-marry with other people and to circumcise their sons for identification? Why were they told to preserve their geneology? Where did Adam and Eve’s sons go to get their wives, if they were the only “humans” on earth?

Many scientists believe that modern man evolved from ape-like primates. They have much proof to back up their theories, including modern blood analysis and comparative studies between modern man and lower anthripoids, such as the chimpanzee and the Rhesus monkey.

It has been proven that the majority of mankind (85%) has a blood factor common with the rhesus monkey. This is called rhesus positive blood. Usually shortened to Rh positive. This factor is completely independent from the A, B, 0 blood types.

In the study of genetics, we find that we can only inherit what our ancestors had…except in the case of environmental or selective mutation. We can have any of numerous combinations of traits inherited from all of our ancestors. Nothing more and nothing less. Therefore, if man and ape evolved from a common ancestor, their blood would have evolved the same way. Blood factors are transmitted with much more biological precision than any other characteristic. It could be argued from scientific scrutiny that modern man and rhesus monkey have had a common ancestor sometime in the “past”. All other earthly primates share this Rh factor. But this leaves out the people who are Rh negative. If all mankind evolved from the same ancestor their blood would be compatible. Where did the Rh negatives come from? If they are not the descendants of prehistoric man, could they be the descendants of planetary travelers?

All animals and other living creatures known to man can breed with any other of their species. Relative size and color makes no difference. Why does infant’s haemolytic disease occur in humans if all humans are the same species? Haemolytic disease is the allergic reaction that occurs when an Rh negative mother is carrying a Rh positive child. Her blood builds up antibodies to destroy an ALIEN substance (the same way it would a virus), thereby destroying the infant. Why would a mother’s body reject her own offspring? Nowhere else in nature does this occur naturally. This same problem does occur in mules – a cross between a horse and donkey. This fact alone points to the distinct possibility of a cross-breeding between two similar but genetically different species.

Why does “science” (ie, the little peoples science)fail to explain how Rh negative is possible? Those familiar with blood factors, admit that Rh – humans must at minimum, be a mutation (if not descendants) of a different ancestor. If a mutation, what caused the mutation? Why does it continue with the exact characteristics? Why does it so violently reject the Rh factor, if it was within their own ancestry? Who was this ancestor? Difficulties in determining ethnology are largely overcome by the use of blood group data, for they are a single gene characteristic and not affected by the environment.

The Basque people of Spain and France have the highest percentage of Rh negative blood. About 30% have (rr) Rh negative and about 60% carry one (r) negative gene. The average is only 15%-Rh negative, while some groups have very little. The Oriental jewish people of Israel, also have a high percent Rh negative, although most other Oriental people have only about 1% Rh negative. The Samaritans and the Black Cochin jewish also have a high percentage of Rh negative blood, although again the Rh negative blood is rare among most black people.

Could the Basque people be one of these colonies? Or could it have been the original colony on earth? The origin of the Basques is unknown. Their language is unlike any other European language. Some believe that Basque was the original language of the book of Genesis. Some believe it was the original language of the world and possibly of the creator.

Genesis 6:2 “The sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and took them wives, all of which they chose.” Who were the children of these marriages? Genesis 6:4 “God came into the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, and the same became mighty of old.” From the King James Bible dictionary we find: “menchildren – men of Israel, male children of God, not children of man – Ex. 34:23.” Ex. 34:7 states “The iniquity of the father will be unto the children unto the fourth generation.” It is plain that something is inherited, could it be the blood?

Blood is mentioned more often than any other word in the Bible, except God. These two words you will find on almost every page, blood and God! (The blood of the Gods?) This message has been written for thousands of years. There is a connection between the blood and the Gods.

The American Indians had the tradition of making good friends, “blood brothers”, if they thought they were worthy. Could this tradition have been for a reason? Could they have actually been checking to see if they were blood brothers (the same type blood)? The clumping (aggulation) that occurs when Rh positive and Rh negative blood are mixed is visible to the naked eye. Could they have been told, by their ancestors, that their blood was different from that of the rest of mankind except for their brothers and sisters, from other tribes, scattered throughout the earth. Indian tradition declares that their ancestors were of cosmic origin. The Indian totem pole is actually a family genealogy.

Why all this preoccupation with genealogy among different people scattered throughout the earth? No other animal on earth has this preoccupation with ancestry. Where did this tradition come from? People scattered throughout the earth, who have had no-known contact with each other all simultaneously have the urge to chart their family tree? Why? How important could this have been to primitive cave men? Struggling to survive, to chart their genealogy? They had no understanding of modern genetics and inheritance. So why should they preserve their genealogy? Were they told to preserve their heritage, until a future date when they would return and it would be understood? Until a time, like now, when their descendent would be able to understand the message they were leaving.

Although they probably didn’t realize the importance of preserving their genealogy, they may have believed that future generations would understand. Are we that future generation? Was there a message left for us to understand? Do we have the courage to look for the answer?

Do we really want to know or would we rather keep our heads buried in the sand? What we don’t know will still affect us. You will not see unless you look. Only through knowledge will we find truth.

Rh negative blood has not evolved on earth in the natural course of events.

For many years people have been searching for the wrong thing. Could the true “missing link” actually be man himself? The unknown link between earth and the stars – hybrid man. Is man the missing link between primate and extraterrestrial?

Upon x-raying the tomb of Makare, high priestess of Ammon, it was found that the infant buried with her labeled Prince Moutenihet was actually a female hamadryas baboon. An examination of Makare showed she had given birth shortly before dying.

Dear Bickle! Start to consider the possibility that you, the Rh positive primate that you are…have only just begun your evolutionary journey. Consider that you are evolving as fast as your little helix can regenerate!

The “others” who you so misunderstand have engaged you to our mutual benefit and survival!”””””””’

so only most people got monkey dna and really evolved from monkeys?

    • on November 17, 2018 at 2:47 pm gunslingergregi

      It has been proven that the majority of mankind (85%) has a blood factor common with the rhesus monkey. This is called rhesus positive blood. Usually shortened to Rh positive. This factor is completely independent from the A, B, 0 blood types.;;;;;;;;;

so only round 85 percent really descended from monkeys

  44. My didactic impulse cuts in.
Background: Animal fats are typically mostly saturated, i.e. no double bonds between carbon atoms.
Vegetable fats are typically unsaturated, i.e. one or more double bonds.
    (Main exception, coconut fat)
The double bond does NOT allow free rotation at room or even body temperature. And double bonds lowers the melting point, that’s why corn oil is liquid at room temperature, whereas the fat part of a cut of meat is solid.
The reason for the term “unsaturated” is that given some conditions,
outside the body it is usually heat, the double bond can snap open and turn into a single bond, and attaching a new atom or group to each of the carbons.

There is a fair amount of non-consensus as to how much of your fat intake should be unsats vs. sats.

But there is good consensus that trans-fats are bad for you in the long run.
Now, what does “trans” mean here. (No, not gender change.)
Well, for simplicity, lets go to etene, CH2CH2.
    Let’s lay it out:

    H H

    C = C

    H H
Note the double bond. Carbon atoms almost always have four bonds.

Now, let’s substitute two of the hydrogens with an atom or a group of atoms,

X and Y. They can be the same or different. Also let’s focus on the case where
X and Y attach each to a different carbon atom.

They are typically – in the case of natural fats – each a longish carbon atom chain.

There are two ways this can turn out

    X H

    C = C this is the trans-form

    H Y

    X Y

    C = C this is the cis-form

    H H
Now, the larger scale molecule will have a little kink in it if it is a trans-form double bond, whereas the cis-form will be a molecule that is bent, the two chains are not at all parallel. (The rhodopsin in your eyes work this way, the incoming photon flips the molecule from cis (higher energy) to trans (lower energy), the shape change is picked up and makes a neuron fire, and voilà.)

Natural fats that are unsaturated are essentially always cis-form. (This distinction does not apply to saturated fats, since they by definition do not
    have double bonds).

Now when you “hydrogenate” a fat, it means you break up SOME of the double bonds and insert hydrogen so each carbon atom still has four bonds. The method usually includes heating.

Now, here is the kicker. THERE IS A CONSENSUS THAT TRANS

And the hydrogenation will flip many of the non-hydrogenated bonds from
cis to trans (lower energy, but needs some kick from the outside, again,
mostly heat – or in the rhodopsin case, a photon.

So the hydrogenated fats contain a fair amount of trans fats, and are
    thus bad for you.

For the same reason, you should NOT heat vegetable oils. They belong
on your salad, NOT in your frying pan. For frying use butter, or if you are a
vegetarian or Jewish, use coconut fat as per above.

    Pop quiz on Monday.

Protein is filling, you’ll displace some carb consumption without thinking about it. Slam some whey or a couple hard boiled eggs before you go out to eat cheat food, you’ll eat considerably less.

Yup. The Swedish term is “brödsvullen” i.e. bread-swollen. The reason conforms with the ideas above. Poor people live mostly on carbs, but they are – in the industrial world – rarely so poor that they cannot eat as much carbs as they like. So they eat lots of carbs and get fat. Per calorie, carbs are a LOT cheaper than protein. I am not sure how fats play in this.

      • I had to laugh when you mentioned throwing them around in the pool… we used to have a blast playing “How far can dad throw you” at the public pool back in the day… it got to the point where all the other kids would want to get thrown too, and the moms would say “Oh, sure, go ahead” and I’d get the workout of all workouts, to where after 30 minutes I was pretty much done.

Some of those kids were fat, but I didn’t want to make them feel bad so I did my best. 😉

    My regimen:
    – Fast for the first 6-7 hrs of the day while consuming about a liter & 1/2 of water and 2 cups of black coffee during this period.
    – Early morning full body weight routine with minimal rest between sets 3x a week followed by a 15 minute sauna session then a Scottish shower. (I sauna and take Scottish showers 5 days a week).
    – I break my fast with a shake comprised of 1 banana, 2 large spoonfuls of full fat Greek yogurt, 1 cup of frozen berry & kale mix, 2 scoops of high quality vanilla protein powder & enough whole milk to give it a smooth consistency.
    – After my wage cuck job I enjoy a LARGE dinner consisting mostly of high quality beef, pork, chicken, liver or wild Alaskan salmon all cooked in coconut oil or real butter along with seasonal veggies. I also try to eat all the fat, cartilage and bone marrow. I wash it all down with sparkling mineral water.

    – I occasionally treat myself to breaded hot wings, pizza, soda, snickers, ice cream etc and a few low-hop beers and/or ciders on the weekends.

    – My T lvls are great, I’m as strong as an ox, I rarely get sick, I’m alert, focused and energetic, and my wife wants sex EVERY night. My young son is very healthy and developing extremely well and baby number 2 is in the womb.

Lift weights? Don’t lift too heavy because it will make you too bulky and toxically masculine. You want to lift lighter weights for longer workouts so that you can get those long and lean muscles that are in vogue and advised by Men’s Health magazine.

Cut carbs? SCIENCE has proven that the Fatkins diet doesn’t work. It’s also a racist diet because toxically masculine males advocate it.

Intermittently fast? That’s far too extreme. I knew a woman personally who lost 100 lbs by fasting and then she left me for a racist Republican who liked to drive pickup trucks. He was an asshole who didn’t respect women. And as for her, how dare she stop being involved in the body positivity movement. She could have been a great progressive. Last I heard she’s a stay at home Mom raising kids. Fasting turned her into a Bible thumper who plops our kids for her mysogynyst husband.

I’m not exactly on a low-carb diet, being a rice-eating asian and all, but cutting out 2/3 of my previous daily intake of rice had yielded very good results for my blood test in just 5 months – HDL up, LDL down, triglycerides down, fasting glucose down (4.5!).

And that was before intermittent fasting (IF), which I started a month ago (16:8 method). Since then, I’m combining IF with HIIT and bodyweight strength training (I’m too cheapskate to go to gyms) with great results. I’m doing stuff I’ve never been able to do before, such as crow stands and handstands.

I use several different HIIT protocols, depending on how much rest I’ve had since the last session, how many nights sleep I’ve gotten, whether I’m training in fasted or fed state, and how punishing the sun is that day (it’s damn tiring when the humidity is 100% and the sun is keeping things hot at 34 celsius). Mixing it up keeps it interesting.

    1. 200m in 40s, followed by 100m slow jog, then 100m walk. Repeat 8 times.
    2. 400m in 1.35min, rest 1.40min. Repeat 4-6 times.
    3. 600m in 2.35min, rest 2.40min. Repeat 4 times.
    4. Standard Tabata sprint intervals.
    5. 2.4km run test. Target timing below 12min. Still need to do this due to my country’s armed reserves fitness requirement.
    6. 3-4km run. No target timing, just to keep the body used to running longer distances.

For bodyweight conditioning, I use mainly the ones from Convict Conditioning, adding in planks, dragon flags, normal situps, and parallel bar situps to train my core. I need all that core and back strength to deal with my kids.

Even my mom, who went on 16:8 IF, is seeing results even at the age of 68 years old (clothes are fitting better when they were tighter previously! – her words). Well, she needs her health to help look after my kids…

  80. Fasting is extremely important…I used to have health issues until I started getting my calories from 8a to 3p. My body repaired itself after that dietary change.

Also break up your meals into small portions…maybe 1/2 to 1/3 of what you would normally eat. Eat the same amount but spread it across the day. But definitely don’t eat past 5-6p

It will take a while to get used to not being “full” after a meal, but eventually your stomach will contract and it won’t take as much to achieve the “full” feeling.

  81. It really is that simple.

Cant discount the vastly improved emergency countermeasures as a major factor in the decrease in mortality for heart attacks. Similar numbers of people (men, mostly) continue to suffer the widowmaker scenario (100% block of LAD) They simply survive it now because emergency techs get to the them soon enough and have the proper life saving knowledge, ie, stop the platelets. Moreover, far less people stroke out in open heart. Open heart is almost routine now

Another reason for less morbidity is fewer boomer men drink as heavily as their WWII-gen fathers. The reason for this is a person who falls asleep in an alchohol induced stupor wont feel the symptoms of a Big One until it’s too late. • Just learn to admit when you’re wrong… Poland doesn’t have 250K “far rightists” ready to hit the streets and do battle with commies and antifa… they have a nice showing of regular folks proud of their country and more than willing to show up on Independence Day with their children and carry Polish flags.

We already dissected what “nationalist” means to us on this side of the pond, but hey, let’s go through all that again on yet another thread.

        (((shakin’ mah haid)))

For a clown who can’t black-pill enough about Trump and Christ, you sure grasp as white pills when they’re on the other side of the Pond.

And I say again, you might want to rethink your antiChristian nonsense, since these beloved Poles are staunchly Catholic last time I checked.

This is why YOU lose, alt-R ally.

      • Your own video calls it an “Independence March”, and some of the interviewees are merely regular proud Poles, not far-rightists as we use the term.

Fail more… you fools can’t help but make my arguments for me.

      • Since you had to bring my name up and disingenuously represent my July 4th remarks on that earlier thread.

Talking with some of you fucks is like dealing with elementary children. And this is why we lose.

Wake UP to yourselves, for crying out loud.

      • The “4th of July picnic” was a metagaffe, bigger than you or your individual words. It is now shorthand for a good-faith but very misguided trivialization of another country’s patriotic spirit based on inadequate understanding across cultures.

      • Comparing tens of thousands of Poles being out and about with flags and such on their Independence Day is no different that tens of thousands of Americans being out on the 4th of July in various celebrations.

The fact that Poles are more cohesive racially than the average White ‘Murrican is due to a number of factors of historical, geographical, and social… like apples and oranges when comparing them with us.

For the umpteenth time, you don’t get to define your terms according to your personal biases… when someone on this side of the pond says “nationalist march”, the first thing that comes to mind is something along the lines of Charlottesville, White nationalism (muh supremacy, to the shitlibs), etc.

The Polish Independence march was NOT that kind of nationalism. I quoted several sources (and does this video you’re trying to tout now) where it’s obvious these are regular folks who have a patriotic feeling for their country, but are by no means far-rightists, THE WAY WE USE THE TERM.

        Got it?

I told you already, I’m not minimizing or denigrating this Polish show of national pride… I’m calling it like it is, whereas you and cort seem to be trying to make it out to be something way more.

Last time, if you want to say “nationalism” means something different in Europe and does NOT have the “NAH-ZEE” connotations that the average ‘Murrican puts on it, then fine. We’re in violent agreement AS HAS ALREADY BEEN ADMITTED ON THAT EARLIER THREAD! Sheesh.

But if you’re trying to make this out like it’s the equivalent of a Polish Nuremberg Rally, you’re a fake news propagator.

Stop trying to repeat the neener-neeners you already tried on the earlier thread… or just keep losing.

      • And if you alt-R allies are going to try and trip me up on my own words, then at least quote me honestly… that whole “picnic” bullshit was your weak sister attempts to bolster the false accusation that I was trivializing the Poles and their event.

Here’s the actual quote I used, and the corroborating link from a report on that march:

        Amon said:
Actually this is a nationalist march, …

        Eliot said:
Actually, no it’s not… it’s Poland celebrating it’s Independence Day, as they do every year… and yes, there are some far-right groups in the crowd, a usual coterie of good ol’ boy football hooligans, and anti-fascist groups as well, but the vast majority are regular citizens merely having a good time, like we do here on the 4th of July.

And here’s the quote from the news article, emphasis noted:

That element was visible on Sunday as well. The green banners of the fascist National Radical Camp fluttered near the head of the march, and ultra-nationalists from Italy, Hungary, Slovakia and other countries were also present. Many people fired off illegal flares, and there were frequent football chants.

A much smaller group of leftists and anti-fascists held a separate march — screened from the main event by large numbers of police.

However, the vast majority of the crowd waving Polish flags were ordinary people celebrating a significant anniversary.

“It’s a great day,” said Katarzyna Łagowska, who had driven 400 kilometers from Cieszyn on the Czech border with her husband and four small children to take part in the march. “We can’t end the divisions in one day, but everyone is celebrating — no matter what their political views.

Now… enough of your insanity… or just keep trying to bluff a weak hand.

        (((shakin’ mah haid)))

You don’t get those levels of militancy even in hot wartime.

These marches are not business as usual. They never happened under Communism or in post-communist years until 2011. Until 2015, participants clashed with riot police.

      • These marches are not business as usual. They never happened under Communism or in post-communist years until 2011. Until 2015, participants clashed with riot police.

For the record, informal marches in several Polish cities have been going on since the days of Solidarity, and yes, the growing Warsaw marches began back in 2008 or thereabouts by the impetus of actual far-right groups, hence the beginning years of problems with the government aüthorities.

The fact that there were clashes and riots involving dozens of arrests, and at one such march a peak of about 150 arrests for rioting in which two dozen or so police were likewise injured several years ago, is not surprising when said march participants numbered far less than the current crowd under discussion.

Said current crowd we’re talking about is the 2018 march of 250K, WITH government permission, where there were “no significant incidents”, and it has indeed become something of a “business as usual” affair, with families and children participating.

      • Wrong. For the quarter million participants and the majority of the country, what you call Far Right is what they call “normal.”

We keep going around in circles because you insist that the American view of far right is the equivalent of a regular Polish citizen.

I’ve actually quoted one of said citizens who drove about 250 miles with her four children to participate… but even you ignore hard evidence when it doesn’t suit your bias.

fooling no one? name one person besides yourself who thinks (or cares if) this place is plagued by socks out to get you.

You’ve already self-admitted as a sock, and the cohencidental exact phrases and line of attack you use matches so in sync with Danger that several in the past have mentioned it.

And the ironic thing is, those who have mentioned it are usually at loggerheads with me on several other issues.

      • Im pretty sure Poles take it more seriously than we take the 4th of July. Americans have systematically given up their freedoms and as long as they can drink beer and have a BBQ and maybe shoot off some fireworks they will tell everyone how free they are. Poles have had to fight hard for their independence and lived under the cruel absurdity of Communism and took a lot of risks to get out from under it. How many were tortured and beaten by Communists? My guess is quite a few. Many are alive who fought the communists. I don’t think your comparison is reasonable.

The emergent Nov. 11 parades are different in their scale and in the fact that they represent the convergence of right wing vanguard with the latent patriotism of ordinary people and under heavily Christian & trditional symbolism, under the tacit support of a friendly gvoernment, and in the larger context of existential thrt posed by a h0stiIe EU.

It’s not idle fIag waving on anybody’s part. Nobody traveI with ch!Idern across the country in the middle of a wet and cold Novmeber to wave fIags at a picnic.

[CH: i knew the marches in poland were a big deal when the chaimstream media wouldn’t report on them (except, in the rare case, to dismiss them as “neo-nazi”).]

I think I already admitted, and several times at that, that the average Pole is far more woke than the average ‘Murrican.

Work on your reading comprehension, if you would reply.

I have posted almost nothing for several days and today is my first day back, so imagine my joy in seeing you get your ass handed to you on a platter without my doing whatsoever. So apparently I am at least fooling you. Why are so many socks out to get you? It must be all of the ones that get lost in the dryer.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! How convenient your “first day back” coincides, to the hour and near minute, with the latest clownshow held by dweebstreep.

And you might want to revisit that self-written dictionary of yours about what constitutes getting one’s ass handed to them. An objective observer might notice that I’ve been counter-punching as good or better.

And “all these socks” are merely dweebstreep (self-admitted, assclown) and the occasional MikeF, who likewise only shows to try and nip my ankles.

See, there you go again with the disingenuous “picnic” and “idle flag waving”… presumptions YOU’RE putting on my words, even though I’ve said several times I’m not trivializing this Polish celebration of Independence.

Congratulations on joining the clown show, PA… I always thought you were better than that.

      • … the latent patriotism of ordinary people and under heavily Christian & trditional symbolism, under the tacit support of a friendly gvoernment…

Jeez, Louise… isn’t this what I’ve been saying all along?

And don’t you find it ironic that most “far right” types on this side of the Pond would term that “heavily Christian & traditional symbolism” a form of conservative cuckery? (which is another point of my argument against using terms which have their unique connotations when mentioned on forums such at these, which can indeed be considered far- and/or alt-R.

  86. I insist: a generation from now we will look back at intermittent fasting just as we look at the cholesterol hypothesis today

Christianity, Judaism and Mohammedanism all have fasting periods, which is the storngest argument in support of fasting I know of, but even then all the benefits an individual gets are probably due to the social circle stuff, not dietary per se.

like 15th time that been posted but yea prob one of drawbacks to big city
and running from where you lived your life at
      cops know me so
yea when my sister called police when I took my shotgun and left in car after my mom died to go blow off steam at shooting range she was “afraid”
I was gonna kill myself so she called the fucking police to hunt me down saying I had a gun rofl
stupid smart fucking bitch was trying to get me killed but the cops knew me

      so they know i’m cool

so yea woman are fucking evil

think she actually wanted me dead cause she knew I knew she had a hand in killing my mom

which ok Christ my mom was trapped in her body not being able to express herself for years

but still she did not want to die

so yea but anyway get to know your local cops somehow even if it is minor shit and paying lawyers

I guess I really got nothing to complain about lol the fuck

and when I was down police station and coroner said my mom didn’t rate an autopsy I was like what if I killed a bunch of cops would they rate an autopsy

course cop was like do you have any business here

but yea left and two detectives came told em I was just going for shock value for what I felt about my moms autopsy being important like coroner would figure cops would be important no intent of killing cops

told you guys I had unlimited fucking lives
cops showed at my door next morning and said they wanted me to go hospital

      I was like I don’t want to

they were like it would make us feel better

      I was like ok

      just one come in house

fed the dogs and dipped with them

      key allways remain calm

but yea fucking with ho’s prob did save my life since the detectives asked the ho’s all about me after the one chick I knew got killed I was third to last one to talk to her

but they all said great things 🙂

There’s something profound in that question.

I gotta think about that one.

      • on November 19, 2018 at 11:42 am Captain Obvious

Under that hypothesis, if Whites have the moast desirable women, then necessarily Whites will ALWAYS be on the DEFENSIVE.

Simply because Whites would never be motivated to go on the offensive to seize the [inferior] women of the other races.

      • on November 19, 2018 at 11:43 am Captain Obvious

Long term, if Whites cannot be isolated from the other races, then necessarily Whites will eventually vanish into extinction.

Because no war can ever be won until the side which ultimately wins finally makes the decision to go on the offensive.

But the [inferior] women of the other races would never motivate the White race to make the decision to go on the offensive.

      • on November 19, 2018 at 11:44 am Captain Obvious

Conversely, that would be why blacks are never attacked (except by other blacks) – because no one wants their women.

Blessed are the meek; for they shall inherit the earth.

Without strict separation [preferably on an island like Australia, or maybe a colony on the moon], it all necessarily degenerates back into mud.

That’s also probably why we got bogged down so horribly in Korea & Vietnam & Iraq & Afghanistan.

For the first time, researchers say Facebook can cause depression

    • on November 18, 2018 at 10:51 pm Captain Obvious

A new study conducted by psychologists at the University of Pennsylvania has shown — for the first time — a causal link between time spent on social media and depression and loneliness, the researchers said.

It concluded that those who drastically cut back their use of sites like Facebook, Instagram FB, and Snapchat SNAP, often saw a marked improvement in their mood and in how they felt about their lives.

“It was striking,” says Melissa Hunt, psychology professor at University of Pennsylvania, who led the study. “What we found over the course of three weeks was that rates of depression and loneliness went down significantly for people who limited their (social media) use.”

  96. So the Libertarian/Atkins/LaLanne 3L life extension approach in use for decades works:

*Low-(low fiber) carb, higher fiber/protein/healthy oils like olive oil
*Lift and walk 30 minutes alternate days
*Low stress meditation and hobbies, hydrate ( I would add lotsa sex)

I’ve outlived two doctors younger than me since starting in the 1960’s and going strong. Then they believed that a lot of carbs/low fiber and low exercise was good for you. Sex after 60 was out.

I agree with Heartiste that attacking smoking backfired. For better or worse, OTC diet pills–‘meth’ were also illegalized with another phony Drug War more or less simultaneously as we were told to eat more carbs and fructose was being put into everything to help subsidize wacky government corn energy programs…

  97. […] Part of preparing for the Coming Unpleasantness is optimizing health. […]

  98. It also shows a distinct difference in the mindsets. Cutting down on the processed garbage and doing a few sets of Table Push-Aways does wonders for trimming down the waistline. But it takes personal responsibility and discipline to do so.

By contrast, consider the dual prevailing propaganda that 1. Being fat is natural, not one’s own fault that they continue to chow down on sugar, soy, starch, et al. And 2. “Fat shaming” the sane who look down on this cultural waste line with reasonable disgust.

  99. Went out today to the High school to help some of the wrestlers with technique. One of the bigs 215 lbs about 6’1″ or 2″ didn’t have a partner. Oxygen expenditure was at max level. I’m 5’9″ 185.

It’s not that cardio is bad for you; its that when most people think of cardio they think of long duration cardio at medium high intensity. Cardio at low to medium intensity is excellent for all of us, ie hiking, walking, xc skiing, moderate biking. Humans are meant to run long distances; but they aren’t meant to train to run long distances, so it’s not the running a marathon that kills T, it’s the running 45 miles a week for months at a time which you absolutely should not do. Takeaway is, lots of walking. If you can do that you’ll be able to run plenty fast when needed and be in great health. And no man should scoff at being able to run when needed, many a battle has been won by the warriors that could move quickly on their feet when needed.

On the intermittent fasting thing, I had been skipping breakfast to get a 14 hour fast in, but resumed breakfast after restarting my lifting. Any word on combining heavy lifting with IF?

[CH: this is a good question, and if mangan is reading i hope he replies. my method has been to avoid, in general, lifting on fasting days (although i have found that my lifts and energy were great when i lifted in the fasting state). when i do lift on a fasting day, i’ll take bulletproof coffee in the morning (black coffee with added coconut oil and butter) and lift a bit earlier in the day.]

    • (black coffee with added coconut oil and butter) and lift a bit earlier in the day.]

I’ll have to try that, sounds like the old winter working outside trick, wherein for breakfast some extra butter would be put on toast or biscuit or whatever, because it helped keep one’s “inner warmth”.

[CH: pure fat doesn’t interrupt the autophagy process, so it’s ok to eat it during a fast. coffee is an appetite suppressant, so coffee with added fat will curb your hunger and give you just enough energy to power through a workout. after the workout, just make sure to end the fast by pounding a protein shake. you don’t want your freshly trained muscles to be in the catabolic state too long.]

  101. I suspect the rise of latch key kids and single parent families has a lot to do with the increase of obesity.
Kids with 2 parents working come home, microwave a chimichanga (or pour a bowl of fruit loops) and vegetate in front of the tube. Mom isn’t there to hand them and apple and kick them outside. And in single parent families, add a processed fast food dinner to that and there’s your obese America.

  102. Shitlibs can be tricky, CH. Those are and aren’t Canadians and Aussies. To my expert eye, the Aussie family is half-caste White/Abo and the Canadian family features a native Indian mother and an effectively White father, though he could well be a small part Indian and have a status card, or be Metis, with a different status card.

Aboriginals are the poster-child minority to Canucks and Aussies the way dindus are to Yanks.

  104. I’m 55 and have been lifting for 40 years. I recommend some kind of resistance training to everyone. 54 yr. old wife does Pilates and looks amazing. Having overall strength is way more practical for injury prevention and daily life than being able to run for an hour straight. That said, as long as you aren’t just sitting on your ass watching TV every day then I encourage any sort of physical activity.

  105. P.S. And I think resistance training must do great things for metabolism as well. I never “diet” in the sense of going hungry.

  106. on November 19, 2018 at 4:18 pm Hitler is our pal

Fasting definitely needs to make a comeback. People I work with just eat constantly. They act like going a few hours without eating would kill them. During an eight hour shift I usually just eat a banana. If I have to work longer I’ll also eat some beef jerky. Americans just eat too damn much.

When we get off the calf machine we have to remember to set the weights lower otherwise some dumb steroid jock will climb on and try to beat the skinny endurance athlete and snap his Achilles tendon.
